Daniel Bilici bought his first camera, a small pocket-sized point-and shoot Canon, when he traveled to the USA to work as a lifeguard. He was keen to document every waking moment of his new American life. When he returned back to his home in Chisinau, Moldova he found himself continuing taking pictures. This transformed into a decade long routine of carrying a camera with him everywhere, taking tens of thousands of pictures.
He lived in Lund, Sweden and later in Kyiv, Ukraine. When the full scale russian invasion began, he was forced to relocate back home to Moldova yet again. This time around, he found an artistic interest in photography, besides the pure documentalistic reasons that he was so obsessed with before.
Initially doing mostly street photography and reportages at numerous protests shaking his fragile country, he then started adding subjects, usually professional models, to create a new world out of places that haven't changed for too long.
